Studio Art Workshop for Children Ages 3-5
Saturday mornings starting October 16th, the Department of Early Childhood Education at Capilano University invites children ages 3-5 to take part in an innovative children's studio-art workshop that is based on ideas inspired by the pre-primary schools in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Exemplary Research
Kathleen Kummen, Capilano University ECCE Instructor, was recognized for exemplary research relevant to early childhood by REACH, a consortium of early childhood researchers at the University of Victoria. Kathleen presented her work at a research day hosted by REACH and attended by distinguished researchers in the field. Kathleen is also the recipient of this years Agnes Shahariw Memorial Scholarship for academic merit.
Prime Minister's Award of Excellence
Congratulations to Capilano University ECCE instructor, Rachel Rosen, and Cap grad, Melanie Castro Shibaoka, who jointly received a 2009 Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education. The teaching team won the award for their support of young children, ages three to five, at Brentwood Nursery School in Burnaby.
