About Griffith University
Located on the east coast of Australia in the State of Queensland, Griffith is a fully accredited public university. It has five campuses with approximately 34,000 students, 7,000 of which are international students. Known for its interdisciplinary degrees, Griffith is one of Australia’s most innovative and dynamic universities.
Most international students study at the Nathan and Gold Coast campuses. The Nathan campus has 10,000 students and is situated just 10 minutes from downtown Brisbane, a vibrant cosmopolitan city of 1.6 million people.
The Gold Coast campus has 12,000 students and is located 80 kilometres south of Brisbane. Known as Australia’s holiday capital, the Gold Coast area offers spectacular beaches, wildlife sanctuaries, national parks and a relaxed lifestyle.
Both locations enjoy a sub-tropical climate with warm summers and mild winters. Temperatures average between 9ºC and 20ºC in winter and 21ºC and 32ºC in summer.
Because of Australia’s opposite seasons, semester one at Griffith begins in late February with Orientation Week, which all international students are encouraged to attend. Semester two begins in late July.
For more information, visit the Griffith University website.
How much does it cost?

- Most Bachelor’s degree programs: $14,300 AUS
- Bachelor of Science degree program: $18,580 AUS
Note: The Canadian dollar is currently worth approximately 5-10% more than the Australian dollar. Exchange rates are subject to change.
Financial assistance is available through scholarships and provincial student loans. Students participating in the program are allowed to work up to 20 hours each week during the semester, and 40 hours a week between semesters. Minimum wage in Australia is $15 an hour.
