    Letter of interest

    Please submit a signed well written Letter of Interest one to two pages long to the HKIN office, and give a brief history of your involvement in Human Kinetics related activities, and your choice of stream (Exercise Science or Physical Education). The letter must be signed by the author and should include:

    • The applicant’s interest in Human Kinetics.
    • The applicant’s volunteer experience including length of time at each organization as well as the total hours.
    • The applicant’s life experience, such as world travel, work experience, or any unique challenges they may have faced growing up.
    • The applicant’s sporting career and achievements.
    • The applicant’s full name and address and the Capilano University student number.

    References

    Please provide the names and contact information, including phone number and email address, of two references.  The references may not be family members and should be able to confirm the information provided in your letter of interest. 

    Transcript Requirements

    Current BC high school students

    Current BC high school students need to submit their Personal Education Number (PEN) at the time of application. Students are also responsible to ensure that they have released their grades through the BC Ministry of Education website.

    Students are encouraged to self-report their high-school grades from January to March each year. For more information, please see: BC High School Current Students-Self Report Grades.   If we cannot access your grades, we require you to submit official paper transcripts to the Registrar’s office and notify us at hkin@capilanou.ca as soon as possible after applying.

    BC high school graduates

    You are required to submit official transcripts from the high school you attended showing all grade 11 and 12 courses. Submit your transcripts to the Registrar’s office and notify us at hkin@capilanou.ca as soon as possible after applying.

    Current Capilano University students

    Your grades are already on your student record. Usually, no further transcripts are required.

    BC university/college students not from Capilano University

    You are required to submit official paper transcripts from:

    • the high school you attended showing all grade 11 and 12 courses and
    • each university/college you attended showing both completed and in-progress courses.

    Submit your transcripts to the Registrar’s office and notify us at hkin@capilanou.ca as soon as possible after applying.

    Out-of-province or international high school students

    Out-of-province or international high school students need to submit Spring interim grades showing all grade 11 and 12 courses, both completed and in progress. Submit your transcripts to the Registrar’s office and notify us at hkin@capilanou.ca as soon as possible after applying.
