This course will introduce students to the history of Indigenous Peoples in Canada from time immemorial to the early 21st century. The course emphasizes the interactions between First Peoples and newcomers within the context of colonialism, the establishment and expansion of the Canadian nation-state, and the movements for reconciliation and revitalization of the late 20th century.
