Laura received a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia in 1982, her law degree (J.D.) from the University of Victoria in 1983 and her LL.M. from the University of Cambridge in 1986. She was called to the bar of British Columbia in 1984.
Laura was previously an adjunct professor and part-time lecturer with the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Law where she taught corporate law and advanced corporate law courses. Prior to that she was Senior Legal Counsel with the British Columbia Securities Commission. She also acted as an officer, counsel and a director of the investment firm Peter Cundill & Associates Ltd., and was an associate with the Vancouver law firm of Freeman and Company.
Since joining Capilano in January, 2005, Laura has taught corporate law and corporate procedures in both the Paralegal Program and Legal Administrative Assistant Program. She has also taught Legal Drafting and Wills and Estates.
