The Capilano Performing Arts Theatre, a part of the Birch Building on the Capilano University campus, is nestled in the slopes of the North Shore and is only a 20 minute drive from downtown Vancouver. The beauty of its natural environment provides the perfect backdrop for a relaxing evening of entertainment.
Directions:
From the Second Narrows Bridge
Take Exit 22A (3 rd exit) – Lillooet Rd.
At intersection turn left onto Lillooet Rd.
Proceed up hill to the second set of lights
Turn right on to Purcell Way and follow along into the campus.
From Lions Gate Bridge
Turn right off of the bridge following signs to Grouse Mountain/North Vancouver.
Turn left onto Capilano Road. Follow Capilano Rd. and turn right to HWY 1 East.
Take Hwy 1 east to Exit 22 (5 th exit). At the offramp, turn left onto Fern Road.
Continue on Lillooet Rd. up the hill to the second set of lights.
Turn right on to Purcell Way and follow along into the campus.
Parking:
Ample parking is available on the Capilano University campus. Pay parking is in effect 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All vehicles must display a valid permit or parking pass. Purchase a pass from an Imperial Parking dispenser for $3 with cash or credit card, pay with your cell phone with Verrus Park & Pay or prepurchase a parking pass through our box office when you order tickets.
Background:
The Capilano Performing Arts Theatre officially opened in October 1997. In support of the institution's performing arts programs, the 372-seat theatre was built as a much needed performance space designed to nurture and showcase the university's emerging artists.
The Capilano Performing Arts Theatre has evolved to encompass a broad range of artistic programming including the founding and production of several distinct series including the Cap Jazz Series, Cap Folk and Roots Series, Cap Classical/Choral Series, Cap Theatre Series, the North Shore Jazz Festival and the Pacific Arbour Speaker Series.
