David Nelson is a public administrator, consultant and educator with
27 years' experience in program development, project management, consulting
and teaching. He has broad local government perspective through experience at five municipalities: City of Vancouver, City of North Vancouver, District of North Vancouver,
City of Coquitlam and District of Pitt Meadows. At each he led
transformative IT projects across the breadth of local government business
operations, writing various trade journal articles and speaking at
conferences of the Municipal Information Systems Association (MISA-BC).
David has a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, holds a BBA
from SFU and an MPA from University of Victoria, and has previously taught at
Kwantlen Polytechnic University and the Nicola Valley Institute of
Technology before joining Capilano University in 2013.
passionate about sustainable local agriculture initiatives: developing farms in
the Thompson-Okanagan and Sunshine Coast regions, plus serving as a Board
Director with the Certified Organic Associations of BC while articulating local
and national organic standards.
