David Nelson is a public administrator, consultant and educator with
28 years' experience in program development, project management, consulting
and teaching. He has broad local government perspective through experience at six organizations: Sunshine Coast Regional District, City of Vancouver, City of North Vancouver, District of North Vancouver,
City of Coquitlam and District of Pitt Meadows. At each he led
information technology and business transformation projects across the breadth of local government business operations.
David has a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, holds a BBA
from Simon Fraser University and an MPA from University of Victoria. He previously taught at
Kwantlen Polytechnic University and the Nicola Valley Institute of
Technology before joining Capilano University in 2013 where he developed the PADM 306 Project Management Skills for Local Government Professionals course.
passionate about sustainable local agriculture initiatives and developing farms in
the Thompson-Okanagan and Sunshine Coast regions, plus serving as a Board
Director with the Certified Organic Associations of BC while articulating local
and national organic standards.
