New Faces in the Library

      CapU Library Welcomes new Librarians and Technicians

      The Library is pleased to welcome two Librarians and four Technicians to campus this fall. We're excited to bring them onto the team - watch for them in the Library and say Hi!

      Maryann Kempthorne 

      Maryann Kempthorne

      Discovery and Access Librarian
      Liaison for Business, Legal Studies and Public Administration

      Maryann has worked in business, cultural institutions and libraries in and around Vancouver.  A bibliographer and media librarian by trade she works hard to broaden and engage access to resources in the form any user might require.  She is committed to systems of metadata that optimize discoverability, user-centred software design and open access principles.


      Sabrina Wong

      Teaching and Outreach Librarian
      Liaison for Tourism & Outdoor Recreation, Communications, Access and Academic Preparation

      Sabrina has worked in library student engagement in Canadian post-secondary institutions. She is interested in fostering connections between the library, student support services, and students.



      Heather Bourne

      Cataloguing Technician

      Heather Bourne hails from Ontario but has spent the last 15 years on the beautiful West Coast.  She loves libraries because they are a portal to a world of wonders – knowledge, adventure, growth, opportunity and so much more.  

      Jeremy Curry

      Library Assistant

      Jeremy is currently enrolled in the Langara Library Information & Technology Program. He has a Digital Design Certificate from Mount Royal U.

      Chelsea Merkl

      Library Assistant

      Chelsea graduated from the Langara program Library Information & Technology Program in spring 2016.  She has a BA from the University of Alberta. 

      Kathleen Mann

      Library Assistant

      Kathleen has completed courses in the University of Fraser Valley Library Technician program and worked at the Fraser Valley Regional Library. She is currently a student at UBC.
