Steve Maddock

Instructor - Jazz Studies

Over the past two decades, Steve Maddock has come to be known as one of Western Canada's
most versatile vocal talents. He's been a soloist with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, been
featured on CBC radio, has played numerous jazz clubs and festivals, and has starred in musical
theatre productions at the Arts Club, the Vancouver Playhouse, and Stage West Calgary. As an
ensemble singer, he participated in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Vancouver 2010
Winter Olympics, and is a former member of the Vancouver Chamber Choir, musica intima, Chor
Leoni Men's Choir, and the Phoenix Chamber Choir. Originally from Toronto, Steve studied
acting at the University of Windsor, Ontario, then came to BC in 1990 to study jazz at what was
then Capilano College. He has been an instructor at Capilano since 1996, and is currently
working towards his MA in musicology at York University. For more information, vist
