How to Apply

        Some programs may have application deadlines which differ from the above dates. Please consult the individual program websites for the most up-to-date information.

      • Step 1) Prepare your application

        Review your admission requirements and prepare your documents.

        Step 2) Apply now

        2a. Complete the online application form.

        2b. Pay the $135 non-refundable application (or if a returning Cap U student, the $50 non-refundable re-application) fee.

        Step 3) Submit documents

        3a. Send scanned (unofficial) copies of your documents to:

        3b. Ensure official documents are sent (or brought) directly to the Centre for International Experience at Capilano University before the start of your program. Documents to be sent include:

        • Proof of English language requirement (not required for EAP applicants)
        • High School transcript including proof of graduation
        • Post-secondary transcript (if applicable)
        • Certified translations in English of all documents submitted in another language
        • Certain programs may require a portfolio submission or an audition or an interview.

        *Official transcripts and official proof of graduation (stamped and signed by your school), with certified English translation for all secondary and postsecondary institutions attended. English proficiency test score sent directly from the testing agency.

        *Proof of English language proficiency is not required for applications to the ESL/EAP program. Irreplaceable documents submitted will be returned to the student upon request (.PDF) after admission to the university.

        Step 4) Check the status of your application

        Watch your e-mail and monitor the status of your application on the Student Information Web Service (SIWS).

        You will receive a letter of acknowledgement, usually sent by email within 3-4 business days, from the Centre for International Experience that will let you know if your application has been successfully submitted and what, if any additional items are required to complete your application. It will also provide instruction on how to access SIWS. (Remember that your application will be reviewed and an admission decision will be made when all items have been received by our office and your application is complete.)

        Although processing times vary according to volume and the time of year, you can generally expect to receive an admission decision within 4 weeks of our receiving your complete application to Arts and Science, Business and English for Academic Purposes. Processing times to other faculties will vary.

        Step 5) Accept your Offer of Admission

        5a. Review the Offer

        Carefully read the conditions of your offer of admission and the dates when these conditions must be met.

        5b. Pay the Deposit

        To accept the offer of admission, you must pay the $5000 CAD tuition and fee deposit, that will go toward your first term of study, by the deadline specified in your Letter of Offer. Include links to payments options, how to request a receipt and refund terms as currently outlined in Step 5 of the How to Apply page

        5c. Watch your E-mail

        After you pay your tuition deposit, you will receive a formal Letter of Acceptance and information on the next steps for you to take as a newly admitted Capilano University student.
