Get a front row seat at We Day Vancouver! As the exclusive post-secondary education partner of We Day Vancouver, Capilano University has the unique opportunity to stream the event live for the Capilano U community! This year’s event features a stellar lineup of speakers and performers, including multi-platinum recording artist Selena Gomez, actor and humanitarian Orlando Bloom, author Sir Ken Robinson, Canadian Olympian Silken Laumann, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Shawn Mendes, Marianas Trench and…Capilano U students! An opportunity of a lifetime, students in the Musical Theatre program will give a rousing performance of You Can’t Stop the Beat from the musical Hairspray.

Be sure to visit the booths outside the CSU Lounge in the hallway highlighting different changemaking initiatives and causes.

This event is hosted by the EmPower Rangers, a group of Capilano U students who are passionate about social change. In the spirit of We Day, this dedicated group of students recently took on a changemaking initiative of their own—to raise $20,000 for the Take a Hike Foundation, an organization that helps at-risk youth to positively change their lives. Learn more about the campaign for Take a Hike at the live stream or connect with the EmPower Rangers on Facebook. When you make a donation, amounts of up to $250 are matched, so your contribution goes a long way!

Capilano University is proud to be the exclusive post-secondary partner of We Day Vancouver. This partnership is one example of the university’s commitment to educating, engaging, and empowering students. The energy and great work of We Day doesn't have to end at high school graduation. The culture of change making is fostered and built into many Capilano programs and initiatives, helping students reach their fullest potential as agents of change and lifelong, active global citizens.
