Like many Canadian artists Hiro has forged a career wearing many hats:
actor, playwright, screenwriter, teacher. His plays range from the war crimes
drama Tiger of Malaya (Factory Theatre, National Arts Centre, Gateway
Theatre) to the Christmas fable The Patron Saint of Stanley Park (Arts
Club, Halifax Theatre for Young People, Theatre Northwest). His most recent
play, Indian Arm, premiered last spring with Vancouver's Rumble Theatre
and received the Jessie Richardson Award for Outstanding Original Script.
Hiro's screen credits include work as both an actor and story editor on the
critically-acclaimed series Da Vinci's Inquest, Da Vinci's City Hall,
Intelligence, and Blackstone, as well as recurring guest star roles
on iZombie, Dark Matter, Heroes Reborn, and The Man in the
High Castle. In addition to teaching at Capilano University, Hiro is a
Playwrights Theatre Centre Associate and a youth football coach.
