current research focuses on competing definitions of “seriousness” in modern
and contemporary culture through the lenses of critical race studies, feminist
and gender studies, decolonial pedagogy, North American intellectual history,
and poetics. She aims to teach a wide range of materials that require us to
hold in mind and action both what we have in common with one another and what
we might experience very differently.
