      Colour and Composition for Painting

      This course includes demonstration, exercises and discussion of composition basics, and colour mixing and relationships. Each session will feature discussion of an acrylic painting in progress by instructor Jan Poynter. From start to finish, students will follow the inspiration, composition choices and development of two subjects. Simple examples and exercises for successful colour mixing and composition are provided and students are encouraged to bring their own acrylic/watercolour for direction, technical advice or critique.

      The Art and Science of Digital Photography

      Now that you have that wonderful digital camera it's time to learn more about maximizing all those options. If your camera has the option of changing the shutter speed (S or TV) or aperture (A or AV) this course is designed for you. We will cover the basics and then move on according to your needs. You will receive one-on-one help with camera operation and also learn principles and techniques for capturing great images. Practice challenges let you learn how to get the most out of your camera and take your photography to the next level. Shutter speed, aperture, ISO, lenses … these are a few of our favorite things. Be sure to bring your manual and camera with batteries charged.
