Employment Skills Access Program
What is it?
The Employment Skills Access Program (ESA) provides a full range of education and training programs to unemployed or underemployed individuals including OPTIONS: a 4 - 6 week week career exploration program
OPTIONS provides career exploration to help the participant identify the specific upgrading or training required to be competitive in the job market. It includes career assessment, labour market information, job preparation tools, and MORE.
The Program is FREE to eligible individuals.
Am I eligible?
You must meet the following criteria to be eligible:
- Applicant must be UNEMPLOYED or
UNDEREMPLOYED (Working less than
20 hours per week).
- Applicant may NOT be currently receiving
Employment Insurance (EI) benefits.
- Applicant may NOT have received:
- EI benefits in the last three years.
- Maternity or Parental benefits in
the last five years.
You may be eligible even if your are CURRENTLY RECEIVING PROVINCIAL INCOME ASSISTANCE (IA) BENEFITS. If you are receiving IA benefits you will need approval from your Ministry Worker to participate in the Program.
