Guitar: Level 2
Expand your note-reading range to include all six strings in first position, and play melodies, including sharps, rests and eighth notes. Full five and six-string chord shapes are introduced as well as more complex strumming patterns. You will also be introduced to guitar tablature. Please bring your own guitar. This course is open to anyone who has taken Guitar Level 1 or is at an equivalent level. All students must speak to the instructor at 604.980.4336 before registering.

Popular Guitar Techniques: An Introduction
If you’re no longer a beginner, but aren’t ready to start or join a band, this is the ideal course for you. Learn the basics of blues and rock improvisation in a supportive, hands-on environment where you begin to learn how scales, chords and licks fit together in different styles of music. Improve your chord vocabulary, rhythm guitar skills and your understanding of chord progressions. While the course is introductory, some knowledge of the instrument is required. You must provide your own guitar and bring your own amplifier if your guitar is electric. All other materials are provided. Students must speak to the instructor at 604.980.4336 before registering.
