Spanish for Travelers

This nuts-and-bolts introduction gives you the essentials —pronunciation, useful expressions, and vocabulary— to communicate in basic Spanish. You will also gain some perspective on Latin American and Spanish cultures. No textbook required; course materials provided.

Spanish Conversation

For those with some basic knowledge of Spanish, this course will further develop communication skills including vocabulary and pronunciation. You will learn and practice key phrases that you will use to interact with your classmates. There will be activities and lots of conversational opportunities in pairs and groups. Experience the Spanish language through guided discussion with an experienced teacher who is a native Spanish speaker. No textbook required; course materials provided.

Spanish Level 1

This introductory course provides you with a guide to good pronunciation, basic grammar and vocabulary. The goal is to learn to communicate in Spanish in the present tense.

Required text: Practical Spanish Grammar approx. $25 at the University bookstore.

Spanish Level 2

A continuation of Spanish Level 1, this course covers tenses other than the present with an ever increasing emphasis on conversation. At course end, you should be able to express yourself in Spanish in a variety of situations.

Keep Up Your Spanish

El curso es para personas que ya hablan español, y desean mantenerlo y mejorarlo. El enfoque principal es la conversación, con otras actividades tales como chistes, lecturas, ampliación del vocabulario, pequeñas lecciones de gramatica, presentaciones, juegos, etc. Es una reunión informal y relajada de personas que tienen interés en la lengua.
