      French for Complete Beginners

      If you have no previous experience with French, this course, with its fun relaxed atmosphere, is designed especially for you. Starting with the alphabet and the basics of French pronunciation, you’ll learn to introduce yourself, and as you become familiar with common French expressions, you’ll be able to create simple short phrases to manage everyday situations. The objective of the course is to begin to think in French and to become comfortable speaking the language. This is a conversation class, and as practice is the key to successful language acquisition, class participation is strongly encouraged. Arezou Hashemi’s teaching philosophy is to make language learning simple and fun.

      French Level 1

      This is a fast-paced, whole-language course. You will learn basic grammar, spoken and written French, and practice fundamental conversation skills. Nouns, the primary “er” verb, numbers, times and dates will be your focus in this first level of French. You can expect lots of in-class practice, weekly review, small group activities and homework exercises. Please speak to the instructor before registering by calling 604.306.7921.       French Level 2

      At the end of this course, you will be able to correctly express complex ideas in French. A continuation of French Level 1, this course begins with a brief review. You will then improve your speaking and comprehension skills, increase your vocabulary, and learn French idioms and new verb conjugations. Using the textbook along with in-class exercises and practice, you will deepen your knowledge of French. Before registering, please complete this short written quiz. Georges Boudjok uses a communicative approach to teaching languages.

      French Level 3

      A continuation of French Level 2, this course improves your knowledge and understanding of the French language as well as your strategies to express what you mean. Expect your vocabulary to expand and your use of the language to deepen as you learn adjectives, adverbs, word order and other aspects of language structure. Before registering, please complete this short written quiz. Georges Boudjok has taught French to adults in Canada, Europe and the Middle East.
