Film Industry Orientation
Developed in partnership with film industry unions and guilds, this mandatory course provides you with the information you need to know before you go on set. Topics include: growth and trends in the B.C. film industry; demands and challenges of working in film; set etiquette and protocol; job classifications and descriptions; reading and understanding a call sheet; logistics of employment; importance of interpersonal skills; on-set safety considerations and WHMIS (for Film) certification.

Introduction to Script Supervision & Continuity
This course gives you a detailed introduction to the duties and responsibilities of the Script Supervisor/Continuity Coordinator during Preproduction, Production and Postproduction. Learn to break down a script and estimate timing, take notes for the editor, line and slate each shot, and liaise with other departments to match continuity. Please bring a stopwatch to class. This course fulfills one of IASTE-891’s prerequisites for application to the Script Supervisor Department.
