General Information
At the start of every instructional term, instructors (both paid and volunteer) will be sent two copies of an Instructional Appointment Letter that confirms the detail of employment, including teaching dates, location and payment terms. One copy of this letter must be signed and returned to our office. From time to time, additional information or forms may be included, along with instructions.
Instructors are encouraged to view our calendar online.
New Instructors
In addition to the Instructional Appointment Letter, new paid instructors will receive tax forms, College Pension Plan information, and other forms depending on their associated campus. Any forms sent should be completed and returned to our office immediately.
Returning Instructors
Returning instructors will be sent the Instructional Appointment Letter.
Important Pension Information
Canada Pension Plan (CPP)
Effective January 1, 2012, there are important changes to the CPP.
If you are currently in any of these categories, please refer to the document below and contact Payroll Services immediately:
- Currently receiving CPP and aged 60 to 65 years, or
- Aged 65 or older.

College Pension Plan
Capilano University is required to enroll its employees in the College Pension Plan, unless this enrolment is specifically waived by the employee. Contributions to the pension plan will be deducted automatically from wages if a waiver (see link to form below) is not completed and returned immediately.
