Business and Culture for Foreign-Trained Professionalsis a FREE*, 12-week program designed to assist foreign-trained professionals to acclimatize to the Canadian business culture, gain Canadian experience, connect with mentors and find appropriate employment while recognizing past overseas experience.
The unemployment rate for recent immigrants (those who have been in Canada for less than five years) is 13.8%. Demographics from past Employment Skills Access programs at Capilano U indicate that 87% of recent immigrants possess a university degree from another country or some post-secondary education that has not been recognized. Our new program targets this group of B.C. residents whose skill and experience is underutilized, namely foreign-trained professionals.
