Career myths are all around us, but knowing how to uncover the truth behind the myth is an important first step towards your desired career path.  Attend this workshop to learn the essential skills for breaking myths such as:  “Your career path is straight, especially if you are studying Accounting, Engineering, or Marketing.”; “Stay away from Arts and Science programs – you’ll have a very hard time finding a career path.”; If you don’t know what you’re doing by the time you’re in your last years of studies, you’ll never be successful.”

This workshop will provide you with some basic LinkedIn profiling rules that you will be able to use on your own time, but more importantly will get you to practice identifying unique values and creating a strong summary that represents who you are.

The most crucial part of an interview, and the reason why most people don’t get the job, is simply lacking preparation. Maximize your chances of success by learning about what you need to do in the days leading up to your interview. Figure out what you should (and should not!) wear to an interview, discover how early you should arrive, and why it is so important to be nice to everyone that you meet.

In this workshop you will learn that networking does not always have to be the awkward, uncomfortable situation that you think it will be. Networking events come in many shapes and forms – but preparing, knowing how to start conversations, and knowing what not to do can help you to feel more confident and comfortable.

Each workplace will have its own spoken and unspoken workplace etiquette. In this workshop, you will learn how to uncover the unspoken rules as well as general office behaviour that most employers have come to expect.
