The small business market has always been an exciting space for Vancity, and after 4 years working on Vancity's award winning Diversity and Inclusion program, Erin has recently returned to her small business roots by leading Vancity's Small Business Specialist team to help build a local and vibrant small business economy. Prior to HR Erin spent 4 years working in Small Business development, Microfinance and Financial Literacy, and 1 year at the Vancity Foundation managing their core granting program. Fundamental to all her work has been the notion of access; by focusing on removing barriers, these programs help members and employees to thrive and prosper in their work and life. Her professional experience is complemented by credentials in Business and Community Economic Development and she recently completed her Masters in Adult Learning and Global Change at UBC.

A recipient of several awards, including Vancouver Board of Trade's Spirit of Vancouver award (2002), Capilano University's One-To-Watch Alumni award (2007) and a Credit Union Central's Young Leader award (2010), she is passionate about the credit union movement having studied co-operatives in Bologna, Italy and worked on credit union and microfinance projects in Costa Rica, Tanzania, Malawi and Ghana. She is Past-Chair of Credit Union Central's National Young Leader Committee and volunteers with the Canadian Red Cross.
