If you proceed with an order online your personal information will be requested and input to a database maintained by Nebraska Book Company in the United States. Nebraska Book Company will process the information you provide in order to complete the order, and may retain this information as part of a permanent database. Your order is filled and shipped from North Vancouver B.C. however. Although Nebraska Book Company will keep your information completely confidential & secure,and you will have the right to correct any errors in this information or to have it removed entirely at any time, your personal data will be stored in the United States, and therefore it is subject to the jurisdiction and law of the United States, including the Patriot Act.
The USA Patriot Act requires disclosure of personal information under court order for “for foreign intelligence purposes or to protect against international terrorism or clandestine intelligence activities.” You have the option of avoiding this process by purchasing your books in person at the Capilano University Bookstore. However, you may use the site to review your book requirements and no personal data will be asked for until you place an order.
