Christina Paone: Designing her future
October 13, 2014
If there is one thing Cap's renowned
IDEA School of Design is known for, it's providing graduates with the skills necessary to obtain their dream jobs. IDEA grad Christina Paone received her first job offer one week before she graduated in 2010. In the four years since, she has founded and grown her own design consultancy Paone Creative.
Having crafted websites, apps and corporate identities for esteemed clients such as BC Children's Hospital, Sole Food and Meinhardt Fine Foods, Christina knows firsthand the value of her education.
"I would not have a job today if it wasn't for Cap," says Christina. "All of our teachers were realists. They not only taught us technical design skills, they showed us how to make a living using those skills in the real world."
Today Christina wears a number of hats as a business owner, designer, project manager and accountant. "Currently I have my dream job-something Cap prepared me for very well," says Christina. "The best feeling is when you help improve a business. Good design saves time for a client and can directly affect business revenue. When you know a design job has achieved both of these factors, it's a good feeling."
