The Office of Development & Alumni Relations builds relationships with donors and alumni in support of Capilano University. Incorporated in 1970, the Capilano University Foundation is the registered entity for receiving donations to the University. The Foundation’s Charitable Registration Number is 11883 7756 RR0001.
The Foundation is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Foundation manages over $5 million in endowments established by donors to provide support to students. These funds are invested and the interest is expended annually to support the programs or students as directed by the donor(s) at the time the funds were created. Funds permitting, Capilano University will match 50 percent of every gift over $1,000 to endowments for financial assistance.
The Foundation also manages many annual funds whereby the full amount given by a donor each year is passed along directly to that program or scholarship.
