Dean - Faculty of Global & Community Studies (acting)

In his primary role as Dean, Brad Martin is responsible for a broad range of programming at Capilano University, including early childhood education, health education, literacy training, community outreach, adult basic education, and Aboriginal education and student services. In his acting role as Dean of Global & Community Studies, he oversees programming in human kinetics, outdoor recreation, tourism management, public administration, and global stewardship.

In previous administrative roles, Brad was responsible for community and Aboriginal education across a network of thirteen rural college campuses in the Yukon Territory, including one located within a correctional facility. He has extensive experience working with First Nation governments on educational and cultural matters.

Brad is motivated by the ideals of community engagement and social responsibility in higher education and enjoys working with community partners to meet their needs. He received his own education at the University of British Columbia and at Northwestern University in the greater Chicago region.
