      (NORTH VANCOUVER, B.C.)—The Women’s Studies department at Capilano College presents two free lectures as part of the Thomas A. Dohm, Q.C. lecture series. Both will take place at the College’s North Vancouver campus at 2055 Purcell Way.

      Poet and author, Dr. Vidyut Aklujkar, presents Power, Passion and Panache: The Feminine in Hinduism on Monday, May 30 in the Cedar building, room 148 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. The lecture will present an overview of the feminine in Hinduism with a focus on the Goddesses. Dr. Aklujkar is a research associate at the University of British Columbia and has taught courses in Philosophy and Asian Studies at UBC and in Sanskrit at Harvard University.

      Syexwaliya, a member of the Squamish band, presents Women and Native Spirituality on Monday, June 13 in the Library building, room 322 from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
