      (NORTH VANCOUVER)--Chair of the provincial NDP Women’s Rights Committee, Kristina Vandervoort, will speak at Capilano College on Thursday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cedar building, room 148.

      Political Empowerment: A Women’s Perspective will be presented by the Capilano College Women’s Studies program as part of the Honourable Thomas A. Dohm, Q.C. Lecture Series.

      A committed community and trade union activist, Vandervoort works for the Hospital Employees’ Union as the political action coordinator. She is a single mother of an 11-year-old son and has served as chair of the District of North Vancouver’s Community Services Advisory Committee, as well as on a variety of provincial and community boards and committees.
