David Geary's classroom introductions are a little different than most. The multifaceted New Zealander of Māori and European descent teaches at the Indigenous Independent Digital Filmmaking (IIDF) program, School of Motion Picture Arts and the School of Communication at Capilano University. Not one to be put in a box, he has succeeded in being creative in both Western/mainstream and Indigenous television and theatre throughout his career.
As an Indigenous person who grew up outside Canada, David adds a unique and exciting perspective to the North Shore's vibrant Indigenous filmmaking community-something that his students and fellow faculty appreciate. More...
