New Directed Studies - Financial Planning

Capilano School of Business is offering the first ever Directed Studies - Financial Planning for Fall 2017 . Students studying financial planning and who will pursue the Financial Planning Concentration within the Bachelor of Business Administration degree are encouraged to review the description of the program below and attend an upcoming information session.

The Directed Studies - Financial Planning Program provides an opportunity for financial planning students to gain valuable, hands-on, paid experience while simultaneously accumulating credits toward graduation. Capilano University’s School of Business financial planning concentration is directly linked with CFP (Certified Financial Planner) certification initiatives and local recruiting businesses.

This is a competitive and rigorous placement program designed to support students taking the initiative to enhance their education and career goals. The application process requires you to meet a variety of expectations including career preparation workshops and a letter of intent, before being entered into a competitive pool for the paid positions.

Initial eligibility requirements: 
1. Completion of BFIN 241 or 286
2. Minimum GPA of 3.0 
3. Minimum 54 credits
