Lorraine dabbled in dog training, economics, oboe playing, languages, and philosophy…and then one day, while helping an 11 year old boy learn to read, she realized that teaching was her passion.
Before coming to Capilano University, Lorraine supervised a tutoring program for kids with dyslexia and ADHD, developed individualized education plans for teens and adults with learning difficulties, and taught English at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Vancouver Community College.
At CapilanoU, Lorraine teaches critical reading and academic writing. Her students don’t seem to mind her crazy enthusiasm for grammar and research essays!
When she’s not teaching, Lorraine can be found training for triathlons, hunting for tuna rolls, and telling wild stories to her 10 year old daughter.
