Come experience 4000 years of civilization in 2 weeks with the China Field School. Explore China through historical sites such as the Forbidden City and Great Wall in Beijing, the Ti’an Buddha in Hong Kong and the legendary five rams in Guangzhou. Guest lectures, factory visits and access to the largest import/export trade show in the world, the Canton Fair will give you insight into China’s growing economy.
The field school will go to 4 cities - Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing.

instructor Andrea Eby and School of Tourism management instructor Henry Chow.
Andrea Eby is a marketing industry professional with International experience
and contacts in China. Andrea is Slovak born and has lived in six countries.
Henry was born in Beijing, grew up in Hong Kong, and studied in Canada. Henry
has extensive airline, business, and tourism background with a passion to
travel, more than 15 countries and counting. Andrea and Henry are all about the
student experience and are dedicated to deliver value and a memorable
experience through both business and cultural opportunities.

insight into how to do that by meeting International and Chinese companies and
organizations involved in market development and in financing business in
China. As the leading business and finance center in China, Guangzhou
will be the focus of our investigation.

you will meet business students in China from Jinan University and Lingnan

Program Fee is approximately $3,000.00. This includes:

the itinerary, or other personal expenses. Students should budget
approximately $20/day for meals, buses, and taxis.

Complete the online Field School Application Form. There is no application fee. We require a minimum number of applications to proceed with the Field School. The application deadline is October 20, 2017.
Note: If you are applying from another institution, you must first apply to Capilano University as a Visiting Student. Please see How to Apply to Field Schools for Non-CapU Students.
All applicants will be interviewed by the Field School leaders prior to acceptance. Interviews will be held October 22-Nov 8, 2017. Interviews will be scheduled using Doodle and instructions will be sent to applicants on receipt of their completed online application.
All successful candidates will be notified via email. Selected students will be permitted to register in the Field School course during the 2018 Spring online course registration period that runs November 14-23, 2017. Detailed course registration instructions will be provided to accepted students via email.
Registered students will be required to confirm their commitment to the Field School program by paying a $350 non-refundable Field School program deposit by November 23, 2017. Deposit payments can be made directly to the Capilano University cashier's office or online through the Student Information Web Service.
