Faculty Retiree Email

      • As a faculty member, you have several options for accessing Capilano University emails, contacts, tasks and calendars after retirement. Choose one of the options below and email ithelp@capilanou.ca to request your faculty retiree email.

Option 1: New retiree email account

        • You will be given access to a retiree email address firstnamelastname@retired.capilanou.ca (where firstnamelastname is your current Capilano University username)
        • For one year, emails sent to your previous email address firstnamelastname@capilanou.ca will be forwarded to your retiree email address and responded to with an automatic message indicating that you have retired and can be reached at firstnamelastname@retired.capilanou.ca
        • You can choose the wording of the automatic message response
        • All old emails, contacts, tasks and calendars will be accessible when you access your retiree email account
        • The retiree email account will have a 300mb size limit; please clean up your Capilano University email before retirement to fit within that limit

Option 2: Forwarding to a personal email account

        • For one year, emails sent to your previous email address firstnamelastname@capilanou.ca will be forwarded to your personal email address of choice and responded to with an automatic message indicating that you have retired
        • You can choose the wording of the automatic message response

Option 3: Special extension for research purposes

        • You can receive an extension of two years, if you continue to do research or other activities where associating with the University is beneficial for both parties
        • This special extension requires the approval of your dean
        • You will continue using your current Capilano University email account for two years
        • If you wish to continue after the two years, you can request an extension again as long as you acquire a new approval from your dean
