    BI Position (North Vancouver)

    Our family is looking for enthusiastic, fun, and motivated Behaviour Interventionists to work with our 3.5 year old boy diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Work will include following tasks and programs as outlined by the Behavior Analyst for academic, social skills, and functional life skills. 

    You must be able to work at least 2-3 sessions per week and attend mandatory team meetings every two weeks on Tuesday mornings.  Sessions are typically 2 hours in length.  We are looking for BIs who are able to fill shifts in these time slots.

    • Mondays 12:00-2:30, 3:30-5:30
    • Tuesdays: 9:00-2:30, 3:30-5:30
    • Wednesdays: 12-2:30, 3:30-5:30
    • Thursdays: 9:00-2:30, 3:30-5:30
    • Fridays: 12:00-2:30, 3:30-5:30

    All training will be provided under the supervision of Connie Ng, M.Ed, BCBA.

    Behaviour Interventionist Needed for Private Family (Langley)

    We are looking for a fun and energetic individual who would love to work with our 3 year old daughter in the role of Behavioural Interventionist (BI). This BI will help implement a home-based behaviour intervention program for our autistic child. If you have experience or currently studying in the fields of education, speech pathology, nursing, or psychology and love to work with children, this position will give you experience in working with kids with special needs and in working within a multidisciplinary team.

    We are offering a permanent part-time position of 10 hours per week to the right candidate to assistance in a delivering a customized intervention plan.     BEHAVIOUR INTERVENTIONIST / COMMUNICATION ASSISTANT

    We are looking for a Behaviour Interventionist / Communication Assistant to be part of a home-based team in the Oakridge area for our social, enthusiastic and nonverbal 13-year-old son with a developmental disability secondary to a chromosomal diagnosis.

    Experience working with children with developmental disabilities and with communication apps such as Touch Chat is an asset, but not required. All training will be provided under the supervision of Justine Banigan BCaBA.

    Program Details:

    • One-on-one support in the home and in the community

Laurel Behavior Support Services (LBSS), a service offered by posAbilities, is currently looking for qualified Behaviour Consultants to work with adults and children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or other developmental disorders living in Greater Vancouver Area. LBSS is a home-based consultation service that develops individualized programs based on the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis.

    The successful candidate will conduct assessments, collect data, write and revise behaviour intervention plans, provide clinical supervision to support team, model/teach implementation strategies, and provide the team with basic training (as needed).  LBSS will provide the successful candidate with clinical support and oversight.

    MANDATE:

    To behaviourally assess and develop best-practice and evidence-based behaviour  interventions for children, and using a mediator model, provide training to families and caregivers in implementing the interventions.

    Nature and Scope of Work

    Behaviour Interventionists & Child Care Workers serve as ‘behaviour therapists’, working one-on-one with individuals with Autism and other developmental disabilities. They implement client specific Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) intervention strategies that are developed by a team of specialists.

    The PRIYD program is a community access program at Family Services of Greater Vancouver, focusing on functional life skills and community integration for special needs children and youth living in Burnaby, New Westminster, Richmond, and Vancouver.     Under the supervision of the Regional Service Coordinator, as a community-based Integration Support Worker you will provide service to families in Richmond in the following ways:

    • Through community based recreational activities, support your clients, using coaching, modeling and emotional support, to develop life skills, age and ability-appropriate independence and integration in the community

    Description of Duties

    As a behavioural interventionist you will be working with young children diagnosed with ASD as part of a Behavioural Intervention team, under the direct mentorship and supervision of a Behavioural Consultant. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Using teaching methods to target specific program goals as directed by a Behavioural Consultant and implementing teaching programs and other interventions as outlined on the child’s behavioural plan of intervention
    • Collecting data, monitoring, recording and reviewing client progress with team members
    • Maintaining an organized environment for intervention; including room organization and proper storage of materials and documents
    • Attending and participating in regularly scheduled team meetings
    • Participating in regular videotaping of behavioural intervention sessions with the child, as well as shadow and training sessions with Behavioural Consultant
    • Responding appropriately to oral and written feedback from the Behavioural Consultant by making necessary changes in order to follow through with suggestions made
    • Completing training modules and attending workshops on various topics for ongoing professional development (note: participation in training modules and workshops is not compensated, but mandatory, the fees for this training are included)

    Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements

    • Fluent in English (knowledge of other language(s) is an asset)
    • Experience working with young children
    • Applicants in Psychology, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, and Speech & Language Pathology are encouraged to apply
    • Candidates are required to be self-motivated, extremely reliable, enthusiastic, and possess excellent communication skills
    • A car and a valid driver’s license are a great asset
    • Willing to travel across the lower mainland

    Behavioural Interventionists (Vancouver - 41st and Oak Street)

    We are looking for an enthusiastic Behaviour Interventionists with at least experience working with 1-3 individuals with Autism to work with a three-year old boy who is currently in the process of receiving his diagnosis with Autism. This position consists of teaching using ABA which includes and is not limited to natural environment teaching, data collection and behaviour intervention implementation. This position will take place at the child’s preschool and will start immediately. Training will be provided by the Behaviour Consultant (BCBA) leading the team.

    This position requires three 2.5-hour sessions per week. Sessions can be Monday to Friday, from 9-11:30. A team meeting will be held for an hour once per month at home the client’s home (Main and 33rd, Vancouver)

    Wage: Range between $20-$25 depending on experience.

    • With at least experience working with 1-3 individuals on the Autism Spectrum

    Behaviour Interventionist (Burnaby between New Westminster and Edmonds)

    Job Description:

    We are looking for an energetic BI to join our team and work with our 4 year old son with Autism. He is a very energetic and easy-going kid who likes physical play (running, jumping, etc). He is somewhat verbal but his receptive language skills are stronger. He is currently using ESDM play-based therapy (a form of ABA) but no experience is necessary (although always welcome) as long as you enjoy working with children. Our Behavioural Consultant (Gabrielle Stigant) or Program Supervisor (Melanie Keleman) will be involved in your first few sessions to train you.

    Requirements:

    • No experience required, will be trained by our team
    • Minimum one year commitment, hours are flexible
    • Good with kids

    Behaviour Interventionist/Tutor Needed

    Behaviour Interventionist needed in West Vancouver, Caulfeild area to work with a good-natured 21-year old male with ASD. No experience necessary. Pay is commensurate with experience. Training will be provided under the supervision of Julee Bassetto, M.Ed, BCBA.

    Behaviour Interventionist Required 

    We are the parents of a loving, energetic high functioning 6 year old autistic girl. Her primary diagnosis however is Prader-Willi Synrome. She is fully verbal, lots of fun and in need of a new member added to her “dream team”. She is enrolled in an ABA program with a direct focus on family focus under the Nelly Kuttle. You will get direct training from our Behavioural Consultant with respect to training for this position.
    We are looking for 1 or 2 BI for 2-4 days per week (weekends included). 2 hrs each session. Wage will be dependent upon experience and education. 

    Minimum Requirements:

    • at least 19 yrs old 
    • college/university, student/graduate (PREFERRED but not required) major in (psychology, behavioural science, ECE-special need, ABA, Speech & Language Pathology or medical field)
    • clear Criminal Record Check completed within last 12 months
    • must have experience working with children or with special need children

    Home-Based ABA Position

    We are looking to add new and experienced (senior) BIs to our well-established ABA home team in South Surrey, overseen by Program Supervisor Melanie Keleman and BCBA Michele Shilvock.  Our 9 year old boy is verbal, funny and smart with a personality that will keep you on your toes.  This is a fantastic learning opportunity, with a high level of training and supervision provided on a monthly basis across a wide variety of programming that includes desensitization goals, facilitated peer/sibling play, academic support, social/emotional learning and language goals. Our BCBA is also willing to provide additional supervision for candidates that require this for their educational hours. 

    This home-based position also offers an opportunity for transitioning into a full-time school-based ABA –SW position in September 2018.

    We are looking for a dedicated, reliable and mature ABA Behaviour Interventionist with strong social skills in the East Vancouver area.  Our son is 21 years old and we are looking for someone to run one 2 hour session a week with him.  Session days are flexible and are scheduled around his work shifts each month so flexibility is required, including evenings when possible.  Programming focuses on social, behavioral and vocational skills.  A valid driver’s license or reliable form of transportation is required, however, ABA experience is not.  BCBA consultant support is provided by Lindsay Parrott and Dr. Sara White.  Training will ideally begin as soon as possible.
