        Using the Spam Quarantine Report

        IT Services employs a tool called SpamTitan to protect against spam and malware emails. The SpamTitan tool sends out Spam Quarantine Reports to your email in order to alert you of emails sent to you that were marked as spam. The reports present you with a variety of options to deal with your spam emails.
        Note: Most of the links within the Spam Quarantine Report will take you to a website summarizing the action that was taken.

        • Deliver the spam email to your email INBOX: To the right of the spam email information, click the Deliver link.
          Note: This option is useful when an email was incorrectly marked as spam.

        • Deliver the spam email to your email INBOX and ensure that all future email from the sender will not be marked as spam: To the right of the spam email information, click the Whitelist link.
          Note: This option is useful when an email was incorrectly marked as spam and you expect more emails from this sender.

        • Delete the spam email: To the right of the spam email information, click the Delete link.
          Note: Even if you do not choose to delete the spam email, it will be automatically deleted after 22 days.

        • Change how often you receive the Spam Quarantine Report: Click the preferred time frame after "Deliver this report every".

        • Change what is included in the Spam Quarantine Report: Click All quarantined items or New items since last report only.

        • Access the full list of spam emails and further options at the SpamTitan website: Click the Click here link after "To view your entire quarantine inbox or manage your preferences".
          Note: This will take you to the SpamTitan website and you can follow the instructions below on how to navigate and use this website.

        • Delete all the spam emails: Click the Click here link after "To delete all of the messages".

        Using the SpamTitan website

        IT Services employs a tool called SpamTitan to protect against spam and malware emails. The SpamTitan website is the interface for the SpamTitan tool allowing you to control what happens to emails marked as spam. The website also allows you to control how often you receive Spam Quarantine Reports.

        1. Go to the SpamTitan website.

        2. Enter your email address (in the form of firstnamelastname@capilanou.ca e.g. johnsmith5@capilanou.ca) in the Email Address field and your password in the Password field.

        3. Click Login.

        4. You will see a list of spam emails.

        5. Select one, several or all of the spam emails.

        6. Click the appropriate action button above the list of spam emails.
          • Release: the spam email(s) will be delivered to your email INBOX .
            Note: This option is useful when an email was incorrectly marked as spam.
          • Whitelist: the spam email(s) will be delivered to your email INBOX and in the future emails from the sender(s) will not be marked as spam.
            Note: This option is useful when an email was incorrectly marked as spam and you expect more emails from this sender.
          • Delete: the spam email(s) will be deleted permanently.
            Note: Even if you do not choose to delete the spam email(s), they will be automatically deleted after 22 days.

        7. If you wish to change how often you receive Spam Quarantine Reports, click Settings in the top left corner.

        8. Click Quarantine Report Settings.

        9. Choose the preferred time interval for the Email me a quarantine report every field.

        10. Choose the preferred option for the Include the following items in the report field.
