Capilano University is committed first and foremost to student success. We believe that dynamic partnerships in community, industry and education are key to helping our students achieve their educational, life and career goals.

The Capilano School of Business Consulting Program (CSBCP) kicks off a new experiential learning opportunity for students and facilitates important relationships with the North Shore business community. The CSBCP gives students a unique opportunity to interact with a business in the community and deliver a consulting project. Students apply their knowledge from the classroom and develop practical business skills in communication, critical, thinking, analysis, and problem solving. The business is a partner in the project and acquires a resource to meet their needs and improve their business activities. Partner businesses (the clients) are offered one of the following for their business needs: a strategic plan, marketing plan, financial analysis, HR plan, and business plan or business case. Supervised by Capilano School of Business Faculty, students learn and practice consulting skills to diagnose and validate the client’s request. Through research, analysis, and the use of professional level templates, students develop one of the abovementioned plans in constant interaction with the client to achieve a usable deliverable. At the end of the term, students prepare and facilitate a professional level presentation for the client to know and receive the final version of the respective plan.

The CSBCP provides a unique and solid experiential learning opportunity to students, an exciting journey for faculty members and a usable deliverable to our business community. This program acts as a win-win-win collaborative educational effort that supports our commitment to a student focused learning environment.
