Sept. 3, 2003: A musical galaxy of stars

      On Friday evening, one of the greatest singing actresses on the contemporary operatic stage, mezzo-soprano Judith Forst, will join other special performers to present a classical event. On Saturday night, jazz and gospel great Dee Daniels takes the stage, offering listeners an ultimate treat of jazz served up with full-bodied silky tones. The evening’s special lineup will also include multi-Juno award winner, Brad Turner, the Sharon Minemoto Quintet, and Shannon Scott, this year’s recipient of the Dee Daniels Jazz Vocal Scholarship at Capilano College. Both performances begin at 8:30 p.m.

      Benefiting the Capilano College Performing Arts Theatre, these two exceptional events will feature an exclusive Gala Dress Circle reception beginning at 6:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy wine tasting, appetizers and an auction of exclusive items, including selected works by renowned local artists and College instructors Kiff Holland, Wayne Eastcott, and Markus Bowcott, among others. At the conclusion of the concerts, the entire audience will have an opportunity to mingle with the performers while enjoying dessert and coffee.
